William J. Connelly Death Accident – COLONIE:  William J. Connelly, a 54-year-old Niskayuna man passed away tragically in a head-on collision, on Monday morning November 15, 2021, at about 9:42 a.m. The crash took place on New Karner, south of Albany Street, police said. They also said that Colonie officers, along with Colonie EMS, the Stanford Heights, Midway, and Colonie Village fire departments responded and found Connelly unconscious and in need of extrication. Connelly was treated, but died at the scene, police said.

The crash happened on New Karner Road, near the railroad tracks south of Albany Street between a 2009 Honda Accord sedan and a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, police said. The sedan was northbound on New Karner and the pickup southbound, police said. According to Police around 9:42 a.m., William was driving north in a Honda Accord when he collided with a 58-year-old man from Feura Bush in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup headed south on New Karner Road, south of Albany Street. Connelley died instantly at the scene, the other driver was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with injuries to his hand. Police identified the other person as Michael E. Scorzelli, 58, of Feura Bush. Scorzelli suffered injuries to his hand, police said.
