New York City Police Department is investigating after two Duffel bags stuffed with marijuana was located by officers responding to shots fired report in a Brooklyn area early Friday morning.

NYPD responded to a shooting report at 42 Brighton 4th Ct. in Brighton Beach a few minutes past 2:30 a.m. Arriving officers located two men ages 46 and 30-year-old suffering from injuries at the scene, one to the abdomen and the other to the leg. They were transported to the hospital, where the older male was pronounced dead and the younger men in stable condition.

Investigators at the scene discovered two large bags of weed, multiple weapons and cash were inside the house. recovered cash, drug paraphernalia, two guns, a 9MM Ruger gun was recovered on top of a recycle bag 1/2 block down from the homicide, and multiple shell casings at the scene, NYPD says.

Detectives believe a trio of men rolled up to the house in an SUV, got inside the home, and started firing multiple shots following altercations. The unidentified suspect then fled on foot, leaving the vehicle at the house.

No motive was immediately given.
