Thomas Laubach, a wonderful macroeconomist, wonderful central banker, and wonderful friend passed away at a tragically young age today. His contributions to macroeconomics will always be remembered. Those of us who know him will remember the person before the economist.

Just lernt that economics and the Central Banking community have lost Thomas Laubach. He was an example of professional dedication and a role model for those economists, like me, who believe that policy and research are two sides of the same coin. This is tragic news.

These are very sad news. Thomas Laubach was a great economist, a very influential policy adviser and most importantly a thoughtful and kind human being. From 2008 to 2012 we had the great honor to have him as a colleague in the Macroeconomics Department at Goethe University.

with him and fellow students. The last time I met Thomas was about 2 years ago, when we met by chance in the S-Bahn and walked together to the ECB. He was as kind and encouraging as ever. R.I.P. Thomas Laubach. 4/4
