Mark attended Steinmetz High School in the year 1978 and then proceeded to DePaul University where he graduated in the year 1996. He studied Broadcast Journalism at Illinois State University from August 1978 to January 1980. He also studied Radio/Television at Columbia College Chicago from 1981 to 1984.
He was a Former Sportswriter/Columnist at Red, White & Green Sports Magazine Elmwood Park, Illinois from the year 1981 through to 1985, former Photographer & BxW Photo Lab Technician at the City of Chicago from April 1981 to July 1985. He was also Public Relations Representative at the City of Chicago from March 1990 to December 2008, before his demise he was Sports Public Address Announcer at Chicago Public Schools from September 2011 to the present.
