Safija Šiljak Death – Cause of Death – The news about the passing of Safija Šiljak was mentioned in a tweet made by Dženita Karić on the 21st of November 2021. According to the tweet, Safija Šiljak sadly and unexpectedly passed away on the 19th of November 2021. Safija was one of the two Bosnian women who drove to Mecca in 1981.
In reaction to the news about Safija’s death, Dženita Karić wrote; “…Bosnian pilgrimage tapestry is made of quiet, yet revolutionary stories – and hers was most certainly extraordinary.” She will be remembered by her beloved daughters, Amini Šiljak-Jesenković and Amri Silajdžić and the rest of her family members and friends.
Dženita Karić said in a tweet; “I was saddened to hear that Safija Šiljak, one of the two women who drove to Mecca in 1981, passed away two days ago. Bosnian pilgrimage tapestry is made of quiet, yet revolutionary stories – and hers was most certainly extraordinary.”

Moved to the Ahiret on Friday, and the jenaza was buried on Saturday…To her daughters, Amini Šiljak-Jesenković and Amri Silajdžić and their families, the most sincere condolences and every patience in a tough loss.
