A man aged 55 has been charged with 2nd-degree murder in the stabbing of his sister Rose Di Pinto, 60.

John Di Pinto, 55, of Toronto has been arrested on Wednesday, September 2021, two weeks after Rose was found dead at a resident near Islington Avenue and The Queensway.

On September 4, police were summoned to a home on Stanmills Road for a medical complaint.

It happened that Rose’s body was found at the bottom of a set of stairs inside the home, where she was pronounced dead.

According to authorities, this is Toronto’s 59th homicide of the year.

A post-mortem was performed and homicide officials took over the case.

On September 14, John was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He appeared in court Thursday.
