Roman Kaplan Death – Cause of Death – On the 18th of November 2021, Roman Kaplan passed away at the age of 84 in Miami. He was the founder of the legendary Samovar Russian. He was a very popular restauranteur and art collector. He was born on the 23rd of December 1937 in St. Petersburg during the siege in World War II. According to reports, Kaplan first immigrated to Israel then went to New York to start a successful and illustrious career as an art dealer.

He later founded the legendary Russian restaurant The Russian Samovar with his wife Lara. Kaplan is survived by his wife Lara Kaplan, step-daughter Vlada Von Shats, 3 grand children, Mikhail, Nicholas, Alexandra and son-in-law Yakov Volovnik.

There was a private service for the family which was followed by a public gathering at the Samovar 256 West 52nd Street, NYC Monday, November 22, 2021 between the hours of 6p and 10pm where the family will receive mourners.
