Terry McCracken Death – Cause Of Death: 36-year veteran of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Terry McCracken Round Hill has passed away tragically and suddenly on Wednesday 10th November 2021 at the age of 78 at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Lansdowne following a courageous fight with illness, leaving friends and family in anguish.
Terry was birthed in Washington, D.C. on June 9 in the year 1943 to the late James Terence Sr. and Anne Walker McCracken. He was a graduate of Loudoun County High School, he then served in the U.S. Navy for four years where he was assigned at Pearl Harbor with responsibilities in Vietnam and the South Pacific. After he left the Navy, he joined the Loudoun County Sheriff where he retired in the year 1996.
He was smart, clever, and bold, he was so energetic and very passionate about his job. He was cheerful with a calm presence, Terry had a free spirit with a heart of gold. He will be hugely missed in the Sheriff’s office. His legacy will linger on.
Loudoun County Sheriff posted a tribute on their official page which says: “We are saddened to announce the passing of former Lt. Terry McCracken. He retired in 1996 after 36-years. He said of his time as a deputy: “It has been a joy to work with the Sheriff’s Department. Every day I’ve gone to work and had a ball. I wish everyone could say that.”
