Tyler Odell Death – passed away – Tyler Odell, 24-year-old, of North Hanover, New Jersey, a senior student, player, and member of the Limestone University baseball team was found dead in his off-campus Gaffney apartment Thursday afternoon, November 18, 2021. The baseball player had lived in Gaffney for the past 3 years. He was about to enter into his 4th year here at Limestone. He was a great person with a beautiful personality, He has been a dedicated member of the Limestone University baseball team always trying his best and putting much effort into their success. So many tribute has been flowing on social media in respect and remembrance of Tyler.
He is originally from Alabama. He was found unresponsive by a maintenance worker at 12:50 p.m., in his off-campus Gaffney apartment after family members reported they had not been able to reach him by telephone since having last spoken to him Wednesday afternoon. He was in his fourth year with the Saints after transferring from Mercer County Community College. According to the Limestone University baseball team, He was named All-Conference Carolinas in 2020 and was an Academic All-Conference Carolinas selection in 2019. In his three previous seasons at Limestone, he batted .267 with eight doubles, a triple, 15 RBIs, and 18 runs. He batted a career-high .316 over 22 games and posted a .444 on-base percentage in 2020. He is survived by his family, friends, teammate, and the entire Limestone University baseball team, and the entire community.
Limestone University in a post on their official Facebook page remembered Tyler, and also express how sad and devastating they are for the passing of their beloved member, friend, brother, teammate, and student. “REMEMBERING TYLER O’DELL Limestone University and its Athletics Department are saddened to learn of the sudden passing of senior student Tyler O’Dell (North Hanover, N.J.), a member of the Limestone baseball team, and extends their deepest condolences to Tyler’s family, friends, teammates, and coaches.
