Jacinda Barclay Death – Dead: A great loss was made known to InsideEko. As friends and families of the deceased are mourning the passing of their loved and cherished Jacinda Barclay.

Having heard about this great loss, the family of this individual is passing through pains, mourning the unexpected passing of their beloved.

Asked myself why the loss of Jacinda Barclay was hitting hard. Simple answer. She mastered 3 sports, she helped build the AFLW and her personality was infectious. Yet she thought the world would somehow be better off without her. Check in with your mates. It’s okay to not be okay

The very definition of a larrikin. It’s what brought out her best moments both on and off field. It’s hard to reconcile that the world she made better by being in it was somewhere she felt she couldn’t stay 😭 #RIP #JacindaBarclay #WomenInSports

The family of Jacinda Barclay, a multi-sport Australian athlete who has died aged 29, has paid tribute to “a shining comet that soared through this world casting her radiant light of love on all she met”

I never knew Jacinda Barclay. But her death is devastating. Someone who clearly had incredible drive and ability and yet… I wish we had a way to talk more openly as a society about this. Enormous love to her friends and family.

Devastated to hear the passing of Jacinda Barclay. Sending our condolences to her friends & family.

Jacinda made her World Cup debut as a 17yr old in 2008 & was part of the Emeralds’ silver medal winning team in 2010. She went on to play 3 more World Cups in 2012, 2014 & 2016

this is awful news but like, the article neglecting to mention the cause of death, and just sticking a lifeline blurb on the end, seems really confusing to me. you’re just supposed to infer that because the blurb is at the end, that she died by suicide?

There’s so many great stories in women’s sport. Which is a patronising way of saying: making a life in women’s sport is bloody tough. It takes incredible resourcefulness and grit. Jacinda Barclay was such an impressive person. RIP Jacinda.
