Dale Schrank Cause of Death: GREENFIELD, WI – Coach Dale Schrank, a longtime advocate for the Greenfield community, died on Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2021, surrounded by his family and loved ones. At the time of publication, no cause of death was given. Dale’s death has heartbroken and shocked the Schrank family.
Dale Schrank, a long-time Greenfield, Wisconsin resident, was a former Greenfield High School swimmer (Class of 1971). He started coaching in the fall of 1970, serving as a volunteer assistant to Greenfield’s Erv Straub for three seasons. He coached high school swimming for over 50 years at Greenfield, Whitnall, Waukesha West, and Marquette.
In 2013, he was appointed as the girl’s varsity swim coach at Greenfield High School. He also coached the Greenfield-Greendale boy’s co-op swim team to success. Schrank had led the boy’s co-op team to several sectional and state titles. He told the Journal Sentinel in February 2021 that his team was one of the hardest workings he’d ever coached.
Schrank was a devoted husband who was known for his infectious sense of humour and ability to make everyone laugh. He was admired in school for his athletic abilities, and he passed on his love and passion for sports to all of his children.
We are yet to confirm details for the obituary and funeral arrangements of Dale Schrank. We ask that the privacy of the family be respected until details are made public.
