John Sewell Death – Cause of Death – Addick John Sewell sadly died at the age of 85 after suffering with dementia for a long time. He died in November 2021. John was a former Crystal Palace Football Club player and captain. He also a right-back who played 204 games for the Charlton Athletic FC between 1956 and 1964.

According to a Facebook post made by Crystal Palace Football Club, in 1963, John joined Palace (Crystal Palace Football Club) from Charlton and soon established himself at right-back, a position he played in for the next eight years. John also captaining the team that reached the First Division for the first time ever in 1969 and continued in that capacity for the first two seasons in Division One.

He made over 250 first-team appearances and in the 1970-1971 seasons, he netted nine goals including one that stunned Leeds United season. The funeral arrangembnts and obituary of John will be released by his family at a later date.

Crystal Palace Football Club said in a post; “The club is sad to share the news that former Palace player and captain John Sewell has passed away aged 85.
Our thoughts are with his wife Maureen and their family and friends at this sad time ❤️💙”

Charlton Athletic FC said in a tweet; “Charlton are saddened to hear of the passing of former Addick John Sewell at the age of 85. The right-back played 204 games for the club between 1956 and 1964. RIP John.”
