Maureen McDermott Death – Cause Of Death: IHM, Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Maureen McDermott has passed away unexpectedly according to a publication made on social medial on Wednesday 17th November 2021. Her cause of death and age was not stated in the publication.

According to the publication by Bishop Shanahan High School Alumni on Facebook, Maureen served as principal of Bishop Shanahan High School Alumni for 14 years, from 2001 to 2015. She was a dedicated educator who devoted her time and all to Catholic education. She provides the student with spiritual and physical care. She was loved and cherished by her student and colleagues.

The publication made by the Bishop Shanahan High School Alumni on their page says:  “With great sorrow, Bishop #Shanahan High School shares the passing of Sister Maureen McDermott, IHM, Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Sister Maureen served as principal of #BSHS for 14 years, from 2001 to 2015. She dedicated her life to Catholic education, and in particular to the spiritual formation and personal development of all students. Please join us as we pray “Eternal rest grant unto her, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.” Our thoughts and prayers are with Sister Maureen’s family, IHM Congregation, friends, colleagues, and students.
