On Sunday, November 21, 2021, Hockey Empire announces the death of Harri Laine on Facebook. “We got some sad news to share the father of Columbus Blue Jackets Star 🇫🇮 Patrick Laine’s Father Harri Laine has passed away Today,” Hockey Empire said in a statement.
According to reports, Laine’s father persuaded him to make a decision at the age of 12 that would have a significant impact on his hockey career. Laine had previously been a goaltender, but his father believed he was better suited to be a forward, which appears to have worked very well for Patrik.
Winnipeg Jets wrote on Twitter, “The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club and True North Sports + Entertainment were saddened to learn of the passing of Harri Laine. Our deepest condolences go out to Patrik and his family.” There was no cause of death given at the time of publication.
