Evelyn Player Death – Cause of Death – Evelyn Player a long-time church worker and volunteer in east Baltimore was found dead on Tuesday, 16th of November 2021. Authorities disclosed that through the help of people in the neighborhood, they have a person of interest, someone investigators said is known in the area. The 69-year-old was a loving and beloved grandmother.
According to investigations, Player got to church in the early morning of Tuesday to let in some contractors and get started on her duties there. Moments after, a maintenance worker found her body inside a bathroom. Player had trauma to her body, WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore reported. Police started scouring the neighborhood, handing out flyers and knocking on doors on Wednesday morning. Gov. Larry Hogan announced Wednesday a $100,000 reward for information in the case.
Bishop Donte Hickman said in tribute; “It’s been unsettling in my spirit and a violation to our home — our home in this community.
“Typically, Evelyn would not come as early. We have other male sextons that come to the church, she just beat everybody here. She had been praying all week, praying and crying, and she may have come to the church early to have some time to pray by herself.
“She helped to feed this community, she helped to vaccinate this community, test them when they were sick, to provide flu shots, helping with Hopkins and others who came to the church. She was a willing worker.
“I was telling Evelyn some time ago we were thinking about starting church Thanksgiving, she said, ‘Pastor, maybe the New Year is a better bet.’ She was always candid with me, always comical. When I saw her, I had no idea that that would be the last time right across from the room where she was taken.”
