Betty Jean Robinson, Death – Franklin, TN: Betty Jean Robinson, 88-year-old, of Franklin, Tennessee, a Christian music singer, and songwriter, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. On a Facebook post Heart of Worship, Greer Campus shared the news of her demise. In the post, they mention that Betty went home to heaven. “Betty Jean Robinson went home to heaven this morning.”

She was born Betty Jean Rhodes on June 17, 1933, in Hyden, Kentucky, on the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. When she was old enough she make her way to Nashville. She got married to William Harold Robinson and started writing songs in the country music field. She was later be voted Billboard Magazine’s songwriter of the year. She was signed to Metromedia Records and later to Decca Records where she wrote many hit songs including, “All I Need is You” and “Hello Love.” recorded by Hank Snow. Robinson was also noted as a singer and did several duets with country music star Carl Belew.

She resides in the hills of Tennessee which she calls a Melody Mountain. She has a television program that airs regularly on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. She also wrote a book by the same name. Her two daughters Elizabeth and Rebecca, along with her husband passed away. She has 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and continues to live in the mountains of Franklin, Tennessee. In her programs, she sings and shares inspirational moments with her audience. In 1968 she was named “Billboard Magazines Female Country Songwriter of the Year” for the hit song, “Baby’s Back Again” performed by Connie Smith and “Hello Love” performed by Hank Snow. Most recently, Robinson was honored by the Artists Music Guild with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award on November 10, 2012.
