Mark Roth Cause of Death – Passed Away: Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) legend Mark Roth has sadly passed away. He was 70 years old. The cause of his death is currently unknown to the public. Mark Roth was Hollmark Shoe’s first and only signed PBA bowler. Roth attended Sheepshead Bay High School.
While sharing the passing of Roth, Tom Clark, the commissioner of PBA Tour said in a statement that Roth was a hero who changed the PBA game and inspired millions for generations. “He was a hero. He changed our game. He inspired millions, for generations,” Tom wrote on his Facebook page.
Mark Roth was most dominant from 1975 through 1987, a stretch in which he made 107 televised finals appearances, captured 33 titles, and won four PBA Player of the Year awards. He is also known for being the first professional bowler to convert a 7-10 split on national television. He won 34 PBA Tour titles in his career (sixth-most all-time) and is a member of the PBA and USBC Halls of Fame.
PBA Tour Commissioner Tom Clark posted on Facebook, “Hello. I have bad news. Just moments ago, I received the phone call from Denise Roth that we’ve all be dreading. The Great Mark Roth passed away today. Denise asked me to let you know and to thank you all for the kindness and prayers. I can’t believe he is gone. He was a hero. He changed our game. He inspired millions, for generations. Denise said details about a memorial will come. She was by his side, and by his side for the past 12 years of his difficult, painful health issues.
