Chicago shooting – Chicago Police are investigating after two tow van drivers were struck by gunfire at a crash scene in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood early Thursday, reports say.

According to investigators, the two men were outside responding to a crash scene in the 2700-block of North Central Avenue at approximately 3:05 a.m. Detectives say a suspect in a gray or gold SUV drove by and fired multiple shots, striking the two men, the 37-year-old man to the lower torso, and the 38-year-old man to the head, shoulder, and lower torso.

Officials say the victims took themselves to Community First Hospital, where they were transferred to a different hospital, where the younger man was listed in critical condition and the older man was listed in good condition. No suspect information was immediately given.

Area Five detectives are still investigating.
