Anthony Arambula, Death: Anthony Arambula, a coach, a former member of our U17 GSA 2005 Boys Showcase team, and an athlete of Santa Fe Football passed away sadly. Santa Fe Football announces his death on Facebook on Monday, November 22, 2021, in the post the team expresses their sadness over the death of Anthony, they also mention that he was one of their athletes and their hearts is broken as they mourn him. “Today our athletic programs learned that we have lost one of our athletes—a part of our family. It is with great sadness that we let you know that Anthony Arambula passed away this morning. Our hearts are broken and we mourn with Coach Jonathan Arambula and his family. We understand that this is a very difficult time for our players, students, and families. We want to be sure all are supported and cared for during this time.”
Santa Fe Football also added that Coach Arambula has been battling cancer since the summer and is still undergoing chemo treatments post-surgery for cancer, all while working and coaching. On Tuesday, November 23, 2021, a vigil will be held at the SFHS football field at 5:00 pm. This will be a time for students, staff, and the community to gather and offer support to one another. Grief counselors and local youth pastors will also be available for additional support. Please reach out if there is anything we can do for your player or family. GSA — Gainesville Soccer Alliance also shared a post on their Facebook page expressing their sadness for the unexpected death of Anthony, they said he had been their member for three years and he will be missed by all. “I’m deeply saddened to learn today that one of our GSA family members has unexpectedly passed away. Anthony Arambula was a member of our U17 GSA 2005 Boys Showcase team. Anthony has been a part of GSA for over 3 years, working his way up to the club’s top team. He was a true competitor and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. I enjoyed watching him grow as a player and as a young man. My heart goes out to the Arambula family and we will keep them in our prayers.”
