Norm Eavenson Death – Cause Of Death: Popular Philadelphia Area High School Basketball Sportswriter and High School basketball talent evaluator in Pennsylvania Norm Eavenson has sadly and unexpectedly passed away on Sunday 14th November 2021. His cause of death and age was not stated at the time of this report.
Norm was a multifaceted man, talented scout, and evaluator that did so much for so many. More importantly a genuine person and friend to all that had the opportunity to know him. Norm always left a positive mark on every interaction he had with anyone. He was a good-natured man who had love in his heart for all. A very generous man to the call, he always made sure he gives help to people who needs it.
He lived in West Chester, Pennsylvania West Chester and Works at Middle Atlantic Recruiting Service. He was one of the best advocates for young men in the Northeast, his impact was felt by players & coaches. He was a silent yard barker and cheerleader for every player in the Philly area for decades. Our deepest sympathy is with the family and friends of the deceased.
Friends and other affected person expressed their sympathies on social media. The Saint Joseph’s Basketball Program is saddened by the loss of Norm Eavenson. He was such a wonderful and delightful soul. Norm was always ready to greet you with a prepared binder, a thoughtful comparison, and an authentic smile. He will be missed. Our thoughts and our prayers are with his loved ones and family. Rest In Peace Norm.
Very sad news last night to learn of the passing of Norm Eavenson@n_eavenson.The outpouring of tributes since then speaks to what a gentleman Norm really was. Kind, honest, gracious, and smart. Also one heck of an evaluator. There was no one more reliable in my opinion.
Hearing about the passing of Norm Eavenson this morning. Truly thankful for his life. He gave his time and energy to help the kids he evaluated, the coaches he educated, and the other scouts he mentored. He NEVER made it about himself or money. He will be missed.
The Philadelphia basketball community today lost a treasure, a gentleman, an educator, a humble human being, a friend. Going to miss Norm Eavenson, who surprised the hell out of me eight years ago when he asked if I wanted to buy two extra tickets he had — to a Pearl Jam concert. Over the last nine years, I can’t count how many games Norm and I watched together, how many different players we talked about, not to mention TV shows, bands, concerts, his affinity for collecting, and more. Hard to believe I won’t see Norm at games anymore. I’ll bring a blue chair to games, put it courtside, waiting for him just in case. Norm Eavenson’s obituary and funeral plans will be announced by his family.
