This departure was confirmed through social media posts made by Twitter users who pour out tributes, and condolences to the family of the deceased.

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of long time Board of Directors member and current treasurer Steve Moll. Steve was not just a board member but a friend to many. He was a fierce advocate for Literacy Suffolk and a true believer in our mission. Steve believed that increased adult literacy is one of the keys to a stronger family unit, increased involvement in our communities and a win-win for American society as a whole. He advocated for us on the home front, in Albany, at Rotary meetings and everywhere he saw an opportunity.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Angela and their two beautiful daughters, Jessica and Sarah, whom he loved and spoke about all the time.

Literacy Suffolk staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers will miss his smile, his laugh, his support, his presence and mostly his love. May he Rest in Peace.
