Damn, RIP Carlos Culture. We grew up listening to you DJ songs on reggae makosa. Thank you for always showing our band love since the beginning and DJing a lot of our hometown shows. Not many in this industry have been around or have been promoting roots and dancehall for as long as you did. Much love brother.
Woke up to the terrible news that Carlos Culture, Radio Dj, promoter, father, husband, friend of the band and entire reggae scene had passed. RIP king, you will be missed..
Very sad to hear the news of the passing of friend Carlos Culture, DJ for Reggae Sundays. Most of the time, it was just Steve and I in the studio on those early Sunday AMs, and Carlos would come in a bit later to prep for his show, sometimes with his daughter, Sequoia. Carlos always had a smile on his face and such a positive vibe. Rest in peace my friend.
Rest In Peace to a local legend Carlos Culture. Your kind soul will not be forgotten! What you did for the SoCal reggae scene was incredible, you gave so many bands a shot to prove themselves and play on bigger stages and climb the ladder. I’ll miss your killer DJ sets in between bands and all the laughs and good times we’ve shared. Thank you for all you’ve done, I hope you’re in paradise now
Carlos Culture, we’ve been in Reggae for years. Two weeks ago you came by and dropped off some old CDs from our past shows. I had just gone back in to get something I had forgotten and missed you. I came back out and they said you were just here and had drove out. Oh how I wanted to see you and hold you once again. For days I was sorry I missed you. I did not know it was my last chance to see you. We’ve been together many shows. If you love someone, nothing matters in time but that love. Tell everyone hello for me and I’ll always love you no matter what in life we’ve been through.
Rest In Peace
We are still working on getting more details about the death, as a family statement on the death is yet to be released.
