Authorities have urged southeast Colorado Springs residents to stay home except they have an exceptional reason to go out. Residents are also urged to stay away from openings or windows of the apartment, as officials investigate a shooting in the area at the early hours to Thursday, according to reports.

Deputies were called to a shooting incident at the 1400 block of Willshire Drive, near the intersection of Willshire and Welton Drives. Arriving officials announced to residents to stay indoors for about an hour. El Paso County Deputies say they are seeking a Black male, who is about 6 foot, 2-inches tall and has an afro and a ponytail, on a white t-shirt.

The lockdown was finally lifted at past 1 p.m. It is not immediately known if the shooting occurred in the aforementioned address, or the suspect fled a crime scene to the location.
