Ciaran O’ Dea Death – Cause of Death – Former secretary of Clare Schoolboys/girls League, Ciaran O’ Dea has sadly passed away. The news about the passing of Ciaran O’ Dea was posted on social media on the 23rd of November 2021. The Clare Schoolboys/girls Soccer League is affiliated to and under the jurisdiction of the Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland (SFAI).
Ciaran O’Dea was the father of Galway United player Caoilfhionn O’Dea. According to reports, Ciaran has been a friend of the Galway United F.C. for many years and was instrumental in helping them acquire critical funding to support the GUFC academy. Circumstances resulting to his death was not mentioned to the public at the time of this publication. He will be greatly remembered by those he left behind; Caroline, Caoilfhionn, Siofra, Aoibhnait and Luisne.
Galway United F.C. said in reaction to the death; “The club, management, players and all the supporters are saddened to learn of the passing of Ciaran O’Dea, father of Galway United player Caoilfhionn O’Dea. Ciaran has been a friend of the club for many years and was instrumental in helping us acquire critical funding to support the GUFC academy. Our sympathies are with Caoilfhionn and his family at this sad time. May he rest in peace. Ní bheigh a leithéid arís ann.”
John Vaughan said in a Facebook post; “Ciaran O’Dea RIP. Sincere condolences to Caroline, Caoilfhionn, Siofra, Aoibhnait & Luisne on the passing of Ciaran. Ciaran arrived to Moher Celtic many moons ago and brought with him a car full of boys & girls and a bag full of energy & ideas. Ciaran’s involvement both on & off the field, his wealth of knowledge in sport and a go to man has been so supportive to our club through the years. Some great memories, seen here at the U15 League winners presentation to Moher back in 2019. A true sportsman, a gentleman, a dad & a husband, you will be missed. Rest in Peace our friend.”
SFAI said in a tweet; “The SFAI is saddened to hear of the passing of Ciaran O’ Dea, former secretary of Clare Schoolboys/girls League for many years. We extend our deepest sympathy to Ciarans wife and family, friends and his colleagues in CSSL football.”
