Blake Ford Obituary Calais, Maine

Blake Ford Obituary – Death: 29-year-old Blake Ford, of Calais, Maine, has  passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. No cause of death was revealed.

Blake was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on November 5, 1991.

Blake attended Calais High School, Class of 2009, where he served in the jazz band and student council, and was a fierce leader on his soccer team, leading to many victories.

“I just received the most horrific news from a very good friend. My heart is absolutely broken. God has a new Angel flying around in Heaven. Rest In Paradise, Blake. Fly high and away.”

He won a state athletics championship in shot put and traveled the East Coast collecting awards for Olympic weightlifting.

“RIP Blake Ford a genuinely awesome dude and one of the best musicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of jamming with. My dearest condolences to his friends and family. He’ll live on through his music.”

He made such an impression on the music program that he toured the state with the University of Maine Symphonic Band, and was featured as the first guitarist to play with them.

Blake graduated from the University of Maine in the class of 2013, but his musical journey was just beginning. It was during his time at the University of Maine that he met his bandmates and formed the Zillawatt Band, playing countless shows at local venues. After graduating, they moved to East Hartford, Connecticut, to expand their musical reach.

Blake spent his time in Connecticut collaborating and inspiring other musicians. Once you listen to your music, you can never forget it. Blake practiced whenever he could, always looking for lessons and giving lessons to other musicians. He even began to teach himself how to build and repair guitars.

Blake worked as a behavioral health professional for over ten years, touching the lives of many clients on the autism spectrum and their families.

“It is with unbelievable sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Blake Ford on July 28, 2021. Blake was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. Additionally, he took great pride and passion in his role as an uncle. His smile instantly lit up a room and his generosity and kindness touched the lives of everyone he met.

As many of you know Blake was an accomplished musician, artist, and educator, who had an endless passion for music. He dreamed of becoming a performer his entire life. After graduating from University of Maine, he lived out that dream playing for audiences around New England as the lead guitarist for Zillawatt.

We have started a fund to assist his loved ones with funeral costs and any other unforeseen expenses that may arise. We want to help alleviate some of the financial hardship for his wife, Brandy and his family.

It is in these times of loss and sadness that people come together to help one another make it through. Any support you may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Please keep Blake and his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.” GoFundMe
