Lynn Duncan Obituary Knoxville TN – Death: “A pillar of the Knoxville community” Lynn Duncan, wife of former congressman, has died”
Philanthropist Lynn Duncan, 72, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on August 1 after battling cancer. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.
Lynn was born on July 24, 1949 in Sewanee, TN.
“For the past three years, confined to a wheelchair by a major stroke, and during these three months battling cancer, she has not uttered a word of self-pity or shed a single tear, always more concerned for her family than by herself. ”
She was an executive for Boys and Girls Clubs, both locally and nationally, and as a member of the Tennessee Parole Board, and for her last nine years before retiring as Senior Director of Giving at Lincoln Memorial University.
He was an active member of the Eastminster Presbyterian Church and later the Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.
Our hearts go out to the Duncan family during this time.
Lynn is famous for her firecracker spirit and keeping her husband, four children and nine grandchildren in line.
I know she will be greatly missed by my good friend and mentor Congressman Duncan.

Lynn Duncan, wife to longtime TN-2 @RepJohnDuncanJr and matriarch of the Duncan dynasty, passed away yesterday.
You could argue that she was matriarch No. 2 after Jimmy’s mother, but that’s getting into the weeds.
