Walter Treser Death – Cause of Death – Walter Treser a talented engineer sadly passed away on the 13th of November 2021 at the age of 81. He was born on the 8th of April 1940 in Odenwald. He was a German engineer for motor vehicles and aircraft. Walter was one of the founding members of the legend that became the Audi quattro. According to reports, Walter was the head of Advanced Special Vehicles for Audi from 1976 before becoming Project Manager of the Audi quattro concept.
Walter developed the original UR quattro with the help of 12 engineers. Prior to this huge achievement, he was a successful racing driver with DKWs and Alpina BMWs from which he got the job as a Pirelli development driver at Pirelli. He was the head of Audi Sport and was responsible for the quattro in the World Rally Championship from 1980 to 1982.
According to an article, Walter resigned from Audi to set up Treser Automobiltechnic und Design in 1982. The new company specialized in the engineering and styling of Audi cars. He closely worked with Audi at Ingoldstadt which helped Treser gain international success. He had agents in the United States, Australia, Japan and the UK.

Walter Treser was a very talented engineer and was there right at the birth of the legend that became the Audi quattro. He was the head of Advanced Special Vehicles for Audi from 1976 before becoming Project Manager of the Audi quattro concept.
“It was during this period he led the team of 12 engineers to develop the original UR quattro. Before that he was a successful racing driver with DKWs and Alpina BMWs from which he got the job as a Pirelli development driver at Pirelli. From 1980 until 1982 he was the head of Audi Sport and was responsible for the quattro in the World Rally Championship.
