Mark McDermid Death – Passed Away: Mark McDermid of Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada passed away suddenly on Monday, November 15, 2021, leaving his wife and children behind. No cause of death is given at the time of this publication. Mark was a wonderful husband, father, son, uncle, and friend to many people who will miss him greatly. He was a true friend and family man with a bright smile.

Mark McDermid had lived in Port Elgin, Ontario, for many years. He earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Business Administration from McMaster University in 2007 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Western Ontario in 2010. Mark has worked as a Summer Student at Bereskin & Parr, as a Summer Research Student at the University of Western Ontario – Faculty of Law, as a Student-at-Law and Legal Counsel at Bruce Power, as Counsel at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO), and as a Senior Strategist at Bruce Power.

This GoFundMe page was created to assist the family of Mark McDermid at this difficult time. As of this morning, the fundraiser page has raised $54,875 out of a $25,000 goal. Robin and Beth Johnston was the most generous donor, donating $1,000. In a statement published on the page, money generated from the donation will go to Mark’s children. “All proceeds will go towards supporting the kids and savings for their education, as well as reducing any financial hardship for his wife Jamie, and family.” the statement on the page says.

He was survived by his wife Jamie and two children; Emma and Dean.
