MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – An 8-year-old boy has been pronounced dead by the Mississippi Highway Patrol following a fatal Lauderdale County two-vehicle accident on Sunday morning, November 13, 2021.
The officials are yet to release the identity of the deceased pending the notification of the family members.
A 2015Lexus R35 operated by a man identified as Meiko Thompson of Kenner, LA. was heading west on Interstate 20 when she rear-ended a 2021 Kenworth T680 driven by Timothy Mobley of Fort Lauderdale, FL. According to the police.
Authorities revealed that the boy that died at the scene was a passenger in the Lexus. Mrs. Thompson was flown to UMMC in Jackson for the treatment of her serious injuries.
There is no further information concerning the accident. It remains under investigation.
