IRVING, TX – Police in Texas are seeking public assistance after an 8-month-old baby died after sliding out of the back passenger door. The incident happened at the crossroads at about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
According to reports, the infant was thrown from the moving vehicle as the mother turned left. The infant was then run over by a vehicle that was either behind or close to the mother’s car. “At first, it appeared as a baby doll had fallen out of the car, but it was soon discovered to be a child. I came to a halt and offered assistance, but the infant died “The police were informed by an eye witness.
The mother of the child came to a halt, but the driver of the vehicle that had run over her child continued on his way. The driver may not be aware that he or she has run over a child. The driver is being sought by the police. No charges are expected because the driver is presumed to be uninformed. In the same car, there were three other children, ages 6, 3, and 2.
The mother of the child may face charges, but none have been filed. The investigation on how the incident occurred is still ongoing.
